A Moment To Pause

A moment to pause

A thought to consider

A cold lonely breeze

Blows our love around

Like bare winter trees

Where snow is always

A possibility

but unlikely

In these parts

A land littered with

Broken promises and ragged hearts

Where sorrow is subtle

And pain goes with the territory

It's a familiar story

Where love appears an illusion

And peace an elusive dream

We try but never quite achieve

The lives we desire

Our tortured souls

Are forever on fire

So tell me my love

If I am the best  man

You ever had

Then why do you

Treat me so bad

Will I ever be able

To rest my weary mind

Or pursue my dreams

A paradox in paradise

The navigator

Has been less than precise

The traveler keeps

Tripping on his mistakes

But always gets back up

To continue the quest

No matter how much it hurts

No matter what obstacle

No matter what you do

or what you say

I will continue to search for harmony

In my own time

In my own way
